My personal notes: Ralph and I met through his brother, Zed. It was Zed who sent me items that my father had written to Ralph prior to the demise of my dad in 1985 on the family project. Ralph is a very learned man, however, a quiet individual especially in discussion of his own attributes and that of his own family. We have now met several times, both here in Las Vegas and Flagstaff, Arizona. He has now retired and underwent open heart surgery this year (2007). Even to this day, March 13, 2007, we are in the search of the parents of our James Carr Veale I, he went to the Genealogy Library in Orlando, Florida to check on more items on this subject yesterday. He is a very valuable person in this our Family Tree project. He too was an Officer and a well noted Weather TV personality, and has worked on many of the weather display presentation systems throughout the world. It is his finds that always seem to get me going once I run out of things to do in the researching project. I’m deeply grateful for all the great help in the family research project, Ralph, thanks again. (RLV)

Child of RALPH CARR VEALE & RITA BOYD is:
69.            i. STEPHEN DOUGLAS VEALE, d. January 20, 2002 in Ocoee, Florida

More about STEPHEN DOUGLAS VEALE:
Cause of Death: Cancer
Obituary: Sentinel Staff Writer, posted January 22, 2002 in Ocoee, Florida

“Musician Stephen Veale’s forte was his compassion”.

Stephen Douglas Veale was just three years old when he started guessing
the name of children’s songs clapped out by his mother. No one was
surprised when he later showed a real talent for piano, guitar and bass.

Veale, a music teacher, songwriter and performer in Orlando since 1988,
Died Sunday of cancer, he was 38.

After receiving a degree in classical music from Towson College in
Baltimore, Maryland, in 1985, Veale earned a master’s degree in Jazz
studies from North Texas State University in Denton, both were summa
cum laude.

He moved to Florida to study ethnomusicology at Florida State University
and music education at the University of Central Florida.

Here, he opened a recording studio in his garage and taught piano, guitar and
bass to 40 students, he also wrote and produced five jazz CD’s good enough
to get air time on radio station 103.1-FM (WLOQ) in Orlando, said his
mother, Rita Veale of Ocoee.

“Music was his life”, said his mother. “It wasn’t a job; it was what he was”.

He also started a Steve Veale Group, a jazz band that played in restaurants
and Special events for four years; a year after doctors discovered a melanoma
his arm. It spread quickly to other organs.

About a year ago, Veale began volunteering at a Give Kids the World, a non-
profit organization that granted wishes to dying children.

“He told me, I’m an adult who’s had a full life, but when you see a kid with a
disease, it’s unbearable”. His mother said: “He lived more in 38 years than
some people do in 78”.

Steve Veale was a native of Washington, D. C., and a member of Ocoee
Christian Church. He is survived by his father, Ralph, of Ocoee.

Collison Carey Hand Funeral in Ocoee is handling the arrangements.

My personal Comments: Although, I never met Steve, his parents are very
special persons to me, such a shame to loose the only child in a stage of life
that replacement is impossible. While dining with Ralph and Rita in Flagstaff,
Arizona a strange feeling came over me, the seat next to me was empty but I
Felt that this was Steve’s seat and that he was with us. I expressed this feeling
Rita, and she replied: “Yes he is with us”. (RLV)
