John Thomas married twice (dates not known) his 1st wife left him and went
into the Woman’s Sufferage Movement, she was one of the very first into this
movement. She returned to her maiden name of Johnson. John’s 2nd wife
ERMA UNKNOWN, (no dates known). For years John Thomas traveled the
U. S. with a crew of girls selling magazines. He would usually be in
California in the winter time, he would visit Aunt Blanche and family, and
would also visit Uncle Bill and family. John made good money, he was firm,
strict with the girls, neat, clean and good looking. They would go in pairs.
They had to be in by a certain time and up each morning and always seems
that they had a good breakfast. Erma traveled with him as head girl during
the trip. John would send the girls home if he had any trouble with them.
After several years Erma and John were married, when he died, she wrote
mom, Blanche Veale, and told her that he died of a heart attack, Erma died a

The above 55 pages shows some of the THOMAS – VEALE connections from the Early Colonies of the USA, and the movement of these two families down to the near current date in he 2000’s. Although these families left their mark in various parts of the USA, around the date of 1900, we find both families having arrived in San Bernardino Counties of California.
